June 30, 2011 was Social Media Day around the world and Mashable held events in 1400 cities over 6 continents. You could find people tweeting on twitter with the hashtag of #smday and on Facebook attending all sorts of events. I’ve presented at a small business meetup in the past, but this was the first time I attended a meetup for fun. And boy did I have fun at the House of Air. The House of Air in San Francisco is a state of the art trampoline park that gives air to those who can’t fly.
I didn’t know what to expect, but essentially everyone was there to do a little jumping or play a little dodge-ball and to meet other social media peeps. Ben n’ Jerry’s was there to feed you after your mini jumping workout, along with Pops chips. Someone was making video flip books and lots of peeps snapping photographs. Such a fun event, I will definitely attend more in the future. Did I jump? Of course I did. I think I sprained my big toe in the process, but it was well worth it! Some pictures below.
Shout out to some of my new Twitter peeps I met @dariusmiranda @betsyflanagan from WellsFargo and their friend @jennselke (she took the photo of me below), @PRFrenchy from Topsy (@iclabs), @erickd from @Tagged (sponsor), @SFSam22 from @HotShotMedia, @bjarvis76 who just moved here from Europe a month ago and is looking for a communications job in SF and Ashley from @benjerryswest.
