I don’t think a lot of folks will read this blog today, but I thought I’d make it fun for those who did. For those who follow my blog regularly, this should be easy. The winner gets a $20 gift card to iTunes.

Contest Profile:
JT is on LinkedIn and her profile could use some help. Can you help her? (I will update this blog on Tuesday with the answers and the winners.)
1. Her photo should be her face.
2. Her personal website should be the name of her website by selecting “other” and then typing in the name and the url.
3. Her public profile URL should just be her name which she can claim.
There was only 1 person who got all 3 right and that was Daniel Alfon! Congratulations! DM me on Twitter with your mailing address and email addy and I’ll send you the $20 gift card.
To reply to the other comments:
- Yes this was a real account that was altered so the URL is fake. But I didn’t penalize for that if you said that it needed to be shorter, i.e. her name.
- The title doesn’t need to be where you work, it can be anything and in fact, I’d encourage you to be creative. Here is where you can make what you do stand out. People are going to see where you work so no need to list it in your Title.
- Yes her profile needs a summary of work history, but that is below this portion on your LinkedIn profile. We were only talking about the picture above.

1) Her face is hidden.
2) There’s a personal Site but no company Site listed.
3) There are no data about her accomplishments.
Well, I’m an hour late reading but I’ll still try, for my own benefit.
1. Her face should be showing in her photo
2. Her headline should say where she works (I know it does further down, but she should do it in the headline too)
3. Her personal website should have her url
I might be wrong…my Linkedin account isn’t perfect either.
Hi @tracysestili!
1. Use a professional-looking headshot that enables people to recognize you
2. Instead of “Personal website”, Click on Customize and change it to Other; then type,e.g. AnnaConda.com instead of Personal website. This will enable users to see AnnaConda.com even before clicking on it.
3. The Public Profile could be shorter, without the alpha-numeric garbage at the end
4. Ann’s tagline could be more prospect-friendly,like “Creative director helping B2C firms making a long sort short”
All done under a minute :-)
Happy Labor Day!
!. She needs a more professional profile pic that shows her face, not the shadow of her face.
2. Name of company where she is the creative director|editor
3.Resume of accomplishments which features job description, employment history and Degree and schools
1.The profile needs a professional-looking photo…that shows a clear shot of her face.
2.The headline under her face needs to indicate her current company, as well as her title (which is already stated).
3.The link to her public profile is incorrect, directing interested parties to a different person’s profile. She should customize the url to make it correct, and shorter. (In case #3 was “faked” due to the contest, let me add one last point, below.)
4.Profile needs at least a synopsis of Ann’s current work experience. Adding past work history would also be a good idea.
1. Professional B&W Face Photo
2. Link to company web-site
3. “Engage Me” make me what to find out more about you and your company. This could be done with a twitter feed displayed, and/or an up to date blog or video blog.
