Often times when you are writing content your brain either flows like Niagara Falls with ideas or drips like a faucet. There are so many things you’ve already written that you can repurpose with new angles. Jeff Bullas does this a lot with his blog. He’ll tweet something that he may have written 6 months ago, but it doesn’t matter, because it’s still relevant.
Creating an editorial content calendar for all of your communication vehicles, not just your blog, will help you get organized, have consistency on posting and generate new ideas at a glance. All communication vehicles includes but is not limited to: blogs, contests, promotions, Facebook posts, Tweets, LinkedIn shares, newsletter items, events, etc. It also helps you think about where to share your content so that people will click on it.
