5 Reasons You Need a Company Profile on LinkedIn

LinkedIn is one of the most powerful social media sites for business. It’s especially good for B2B companies but it can also be good for B2C companies and nonprofits too. Having a company page on LinkedIn is like a free billboard for your company.  Here are just five reasons why your company should have a company profile on LinkedIn.

  1. Raises brand awareness.
By listing your company on LinkedIn people who are viewing the profiles of your employees, interns, or volunteers will see that they are affiliated with your company. And just by hovering over your company name they get a small blurb about what your company or organization is all about. It’s like free Google Ads.
  2. Build Thought Leadership.
LinkedIn Company pages allow you to post status updates. Why not take full advantage of that and get the word out about what you do best.
  3. Display your products.
LinkedIn allows you an image rotator to showcase three products or services and it also allows you add even more with product description and links below. A great place for people to learn more about your products and for you to sell more. Plus it also allows you to get product recommendations.
  4. Syndicate your blog.
Do you have a company blog? If so LinkedIn Company pages allows you to add the RSS feed to your blog so that your followers can easily see  and find value in your products or services.
  5. Capture Leads.
You don’t have to have the same content for your ‘welcome’ or landing page for everyone who visits your company page. Create compelling content for your welcome pages and tailor them by industry or demographic. Specific industries have specific needs.

Once you have a Company profile on LinkedIn, then you’ll want to hand out this PDF at your next company or board meeting.

You say that I could syndicate my blog to my company profile (number 4). Could you point me to a good resource as to how I set that up? I would greatly appreciate it!

Hi Lindsay – that feature went away as of yesterday actually so stay tuned as there is another blog coming out on this and this one will have an updated link once the other blog is published.
