If you don’t believe that social networking is valuable then here’s proof for you: 69% of people ‘like’ a brand because one of their friends liked the brand. (Think sponsored stories on Facebook). Lab42 recently polled 1,000 Facebook users and asked them how they felt about ‘Liking’ brands on Facebook.
Out of the people polled, 82% said that Facebook was a good place for interacting with a brand. In fact, 35% felt like brands listened to them more on Facebook. Half felt that the brand’s Facebook page was more useful than their website. However, the biggest motivators for liking a brand on Facebook were still promotions/discounts/free giveaways (55%).
