Back in October Facebook started to allow users to add emoticons in Comments (not status updates). Depending on your brand’s voice, Facebook emoticons may or may not be appropriate for interacting with your fan base, however, they’re still available nonetheless. You can also use them in Facebook chat.
Users have the ability to add not only smiley faces, but animals and symbols as well. Here’s the full list:
