Fun Friday: [Contest] Social Media Restaurant Help

Juan Meza from Juan in a Million

While I was in Austin, Texas a couple of weeks ago for SXSW Interactive, I was in search of the best breakfast burrito. I found an article online in Storify curated by the WSJ (Wall Street Journal) that showed a bunch of people recommending via Twitter that Juan in a Million‘s restaurant had the best in town. So I ventured over for a visit.

When I sat down I heard a loud boisterous voice coming from near the front door greeting people. It was owner Juan Meza. Juan has been serving up Tex-Mex in Austin for the past 32 years. He is gregarious and full of life and he brings that to his food.

When I sat down and looked at the menu, I had to have the special “Don Juan” El Taco Grande. Although huge for me, it

was delicious and I could see why people come back to Juan in a Million.
Before I had arrived I went onto Juan’s website and did a mini social media audit. When I sat down Juan came over to greet me and I explained to him that he was missing some big opportunities to amplify his brand and to evangelize his existing patrons.


Here’s a snapshot of the back of the menu. There are 2 missed opportunities here and I’m going to give a free bag of SXSW swag to the person who gets them both right in the comments below.
