How-to Use Twitter’s New Photo Galleries for Your Business

A few weeks ago Twitter unveiled a camera icon allowing you to share photos more easily via Twitter platform and just the other day it rolled out Twitter Photo Galleries. From what I can tell it pulls images from a few sources: yfrog, Twitpic, Photobucket and Instagram. Currently it only allows you to display as they appear and you can’t delete any photos once they are in the gallery. Personally, I find that a bit clunky, but I am sure they will work out the kinks soon. (p.s. for all of your HootSuite users, it doesn’t pull pics from yet either).

In the mean time you should take full advantage of it for your business. Whether you are a writer, sell a product, sell a service, real estate agent, etc., you can really use this to your advantage.

  1. Online Brochure. Upload quality pictures of your products, your book, houses you’re selling, images of your services.  If you’re a nonprofit, then post pics of your cause. Think of this as a brochure for your business.
  2. Give it context.Make sure you tweet the photo and say something about it because the tweet appears below the picture. (see below).Twitter Photo Galleries
  3. Get creative. Since only the first 4 pictures appear on your profile main page, you can do something creative with it, like this:
