Hmm, the other day I was chatting with a friend and he said to me, “I don’t know about you, but I feel like we’re in a tech bubble again.” So that got me to thinking and investigating. He’s right, we’re there and the only question is will next year feel like 1999 or 2001? When you look around, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter are exploding in the social media sphere with valuations as high as $50 Billion. C’mon! That’s absurd, right? Current valuations for top tech companies:
- Facebook – $50 Billion
- LinkedIn – $2 Billion
- Twitter – $4 Billion
- Groupon – 1.35 Billion to $5.3 Billion
- Foursquare – $95 Million
- Tumblr – $135 Million
It will be interesting to watch this all unfold over 2011. I don’t have a crystal ball, but something tells me that we’re in for a big explosion. The question is, will anyone get injured in the process? What do you think?
